Since high school, fitness has always been an aspect of my life. Being a three sport athlete in high school and then continuing into the Marine Corps. After the Marines I pursed all sorts of outdoor activities while also putting in the obligatory gym time. While maintaining a respectable level of fitness, it was not the model I felt comfortable with. After numerous nagging and debilitating injuries I went back to the hybrid style of working out that had been so successful in the Marines. It was here I finally found CrossFit and have never looked back. I am currently a Crossfit Level 1 trainer with a strong emphasis in Olympic lifting. I am also a professional paramedic and Pro Ski patroller in addition to my addiction with CrossFit. Having participated in special operations, firefighting and EMS, I can truly say I feel better than I have in years and that I have CrossFit to thank for this. I enjoy taking people that are competitive athletes and those with no fitness experience and empowering them with the benefits of a CrossFit lifestyle.

I found Crossfit on the internet in the winter of 2007 and I was hooked almost immediately. As a Biomedical Sciences student at MSU, I fell in love with skiing, climbing, backpacking, and the Montana outdoors in general. Crossfit showed me how to develop my weaknesses as an athlete, and has made me healthier and stronger than ever. In the summer of 2008, I left my job as a physical therapist aide, and went to San Diego, CA to get my Crossfit trainer’s certification. I love teaching healthy movement to people of all abilities, and I truly believe that whether you are a top tier professional athlete or a person who has never lifted a weight in their life, Crossfit is the perfect program for you. I’m also available for 1-on-1 or 2-on-1 personal training sessions.

Fitness was always a part of my life. The early days of my fitness and strength training was in the form of work, as I grew up laboring on a working ranch in Eastern Oregon. I played volleyball and track from high school through college at Mt. Hood Community College. After college I grew to miss the truly intense workouts I got from the team sports I had played. Shortly after college I started working for the United States Forest Service as a wildland firefighter on a hotshot crew. Working as a “hotshot” required extreme strength and energy output for long periods of time. After working on a hotshot crew for four years it was time to try something else, and smokejumping only seemed natural. Prior to my first year as a smokejumper, I found CrossFit which helped me succeed in my training. For me CrossFit has redefined the word 'workout' and it doesn’t have to rule your day! 4800 Gym is an extremely positive and productive environment that teaches functional movements that people of all ages and types can use in everyday life.
